I have a confession to make.
My name's Sol, I'm 22, and I'm trans.
I've only recently come across this discovery about myself (yes, I know people are supposed to find out in childhood, but that's not how it happened to me. Life is weird, go figure). I've gone through a lot in recent months, from anxiety crisis and depression to strong opposition from my family. Because of that I try to find strength in every little thing.
So one day I came across this painting, and I thought "this is exactly who I want to be." So I downloaded it, and decided to make it my wallpaper. I don't look like the girl in the painting. I look different. I still look man. But now, every time I turn my computer on, I am reminded that this girl will one day be me. I know I have a long way to go until then, but the smile on this girl's face always makes me remember that this is a dream worth fighting for.
Now you tell me that the girl's name is "You". Well, congratulations, you just made my day.
